The South Korean giant Samsung has registered the flying screen in 2016, and the patent was granted on February 13, 2019. The document describes a device that can receive GPS or Wi-Fi location information and has a communication module, a voice recognition unit and posture correction technology.

This posture correction technology adjusts the angle of the screen according to the needs, to facilitate the visualization of the content by the spectator, for example. In addition, the patent describes a system which allows controlling the speed and direction of flight through the position of the user’s eyes, head and hands, as reported by The Verge.

There are four thrusters to keep the screen in the air and, like in almost any drone, an obstacle detection technology is always active to avoid collisions. The information circulates in both directions: it can receive a streaming video to be displayed to the user, as well as send the captured data to a central control unit. Ever wondered if the social network giant Facebook licenses the technology and launches drones that are haunting you with ads for products you’ve already bought? It would be kind of scary dream.
