The reason why this handset pulled up so many controversies is because people were interested to knowing how can a company manage to sell an Android Smartphone at the price of Rs 251 which is less than $4. The Company Ringing Bells planned to deliver 25 lakh handsets before June 30, 2016. However, due to huge numbers of handset registrations before its payment, the gateway crashed withing three days. According to the reports, Ringing Bells had received more than seven crore registrations to purchase the handset. Founder and CEO Mohit Goel said “We learned from our mistakes and decided to go silent till we come out with the product. Now we have a 4-inch, dual-SIM phone ready for delivery. I feel vindicated, We will have a loss, but I am happy that the dream of connecting rural and poor Indians as part of the ‘Digital India‘ and ‘Make in India’ initiatives has been fulfilled with ‘Freedom 251’”. However, Founder and CEO Mohit Goel said they are all set to ship more than 2 Lakh units of Freedom 251 starting on June 30 “We are ready with nearly two lakh ‘Freedom 251‘ handsets. We will start delivery from June 30” Apart from this, Mohit Goel also said that after the Rs 251 smartphone they were launching the 32 inch LED Tv at the price of just Rs 10,000. Mohit Goel also said that the company already had 1 lakh pieces of 32-inch high-definition LED TV for launch and the best part is the High-definition LED TV will cost you just Rs. 10,000. According to the reports, the HD LED TV will be named as The Freedom and it is going to be announced on the first of July. Mohit Goel also added “These will be the cheapest television sets in India and will be available for less than Rs 10,000. Within two days, the delivery would be made and we would sell them online,”
