Recently, Navin Shenoy of Intel announced that the company is going to launch the Intel Optane memory for desktop PCs. Well, the optane memory from Intel will only work on desktop computers running the 7th Generation Intel Core processors. Let me tell you right now the Optane memory will only compliment the existing SSD or HDD on the computer. It will not replace the traditional DRAM on your system. However, it can act as a cache for the storage. According to Navin Shenoy, Intel Optane memory can deliver 28% performance boost, 14x faster storage and can reduce booting time up to 2x. Intel Optane memory is so powerful that it can load Google Chrome browser 5x faster. It will also benefit game lovers because optane memory can help high-end games achieve around 67% lesser launch time. Well, Intel has scheduled to ship their Optane memory on motherboards starting from April 24. Optane memory will be available in 2 variant 16GB which will cost you $44, and the 32GB will cost you $77. If you need to know about the Optane memory requirements, then you need to visit this link.
